Land of The Lost has been produced by Jummy Miller, Sid Krofft and Marty Krofft and directed by Brad Silberling. Based on a television series created by Sid and Marty Kroft, the script has been written by Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas. Dion Beebe is the director of photography and the movie has been edited by Peter Teschner. Music has been done by Michael Giacchino. Production designer of the movie is Bo Welch. The main cast includes Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Anna Friel and Jorma Taccone in the roles of Dr. Rick Marshall, William Stanton, Holly Cantrell and Chaka respectively.
Will Ferrell always performs his best comedy when given something actually funny to do and it will be hard for you not to laugh. He pulls off his shirt to display his baggy pack; it has now become more of a ritual unveiling all his contracts. It has, however, become a cheap comedy, even cheaper than the digital dinosaurs thumping noise in a few scenes. Still it is liked, as there are many people who like to remain stuck to Will Ferrell’s version of comedy. Through his performance, he never begs for our praise and love, instead he exploits our willingness to laugh and makes you laugh.

In the Land of the Lost, Ferrell has played the role of Dr. Rick Marshall who is a quantum paleontologist with a routine expressionless face. His eccentric theories take him down to a waterfall and in an onset of darkness appears the intelligent British baby Holly (Anna Friel) and a Southern lad companion Will (Danny McBride). At this zone, past, present and future are meeting in what looks like a huge Palm Springs bug market.
Statue of the Big Boy of Bob is lying partly buried near “Planet of the Apes”. Like potential customers, the characters approach pushing here and there, losing self control and running very fast in stormy paths. Quite frequently the trio cross paths with some aborigines of this lightly apprehended imagination. Wooly mammals like Chaka (Jorma Taccone) and a number of lizard men, the Sleestaks, have baseball type eyes. During the course of all this nonsense, they slip into an entertaining pause, where some druggy material and male bonding suggests that basking in friendship under the light of various moons is the best way to enjoy the desert.

Dr Rick Marshall (Ferrell) faces a decline in his career when he attacks Matt Louer on a TV show when Matt mimics Marshall’s space-time theory. An ex-Cambridge student Holly Cantrell (Friel) comes to see her ideal (Marshall) and the two reach in a space-time circular current accompanied by local survivalist (McBride). In this other world, they make friendship with an anthropoid named Chaka (Taccone). Everything of the time is there in the new world consisting of dinosaurs and other imaginary creatures. The trio start a journey in search of their way back and show Matt Louer and the world that the theory of Marshall works.
Most likely this movie will be appreciated by those who had actually watched the TV series in the mid 70s. The Land of the Lost is about 20th century people trying to survive in a primeval alien inhabited land.
The Land of the Lost is a sound comedy having a surprising amount of laughs for those who are looking to sit back and have a good time.
If you mix Will Ferrell and Danny Mcbridbe , you can be sure that there is something worth watching. Even their chat about the weather is entertaining. Jorma Taccone has also added his own style of comedy to the movie and did a great job. Anna riel is just lovely; she is crazy and charming and is great to work with. The TV show was irrational in an entirely different way. To make the movie update for the modern generation, it has been given an entirely new campy direction. Matt Louer, despite his very short appearance in the movie has rocked it. There are a few moments in the movie that are perfectly hilarious. Normal phrases have definitely not been used for comedy and the film has been made their own way, so it has lots of surprises.
In “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” which was released in 2001, Will Ferrell’s characters, Marshall Willenholly was named for first line of the theme song in the original TV serial “Land of the Lost telecast in 1974, that contained three leading characters “Marshall, Will and Holly”. In the Movie Land of the Lost, Will Ferrell has performed the role of one of those first characters, i.e., Dr. Rick Marshall.
Bottoms and Will Ferrell are very famous for their impersonations of George W. Bush. The movie is a family series and is a suitable comedy. The Land of the Lost is a rare movie for those who have not yet developed in mind. The movie has done wonderfully well which is as delightful as weird.
Put simply, keep your brain off for about 93 minutes and you will find the film great and you will enjoy the movie alot.
