The Cast of Mammut

Lukas Moodysson’s is known for his offbeat work in Swedish cinema. He was once one of the favorite directors of Ingmar Bergman who passed away. Mammut is his latest English Language drama starring acting supreme Gael Garcia Bernal and Michelle Williams as a married couple. The film almost a little parallel to the unconventional Babel directed by Alejando Gonzalez Innarritu. Mammut explores the connection between three people in three different places. Gael’s character Tom heads on a business trip to Thailand where he tries to radically change his life; Allison on the other hand lives in New York and struggles to spend time with their daughters and deal with their live in Filipino maid; and lastly, their maid’s family and her two kids struggle with her absence in the Philippines. The film will be premiering in Sundance in January.

Mammut is set to debut in Sweden and other European countries early next year, but doesn’t have a US distributor just yet. We are crossing our fingers and hoping that Mammoth will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
