At a recent press conference for Australia, Nicole Kidman revealed that she is thinking about retiring from acting:

In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don’t know. I am in a place in my life where…I’ve had some great opportunities and I may just choose to have some more children. I have no idea what is in my future but I am very at with where I want to be… There are many things I want to do besides act.

This is really bad day for cinema. The studios sort of ruined most of her films because of production delays, The Golden Compass was a luscious film and sort of unforgettable. I just couldn’t wait for a second part for that film. Some of her performances have sort of been washed off the radar in the last couple of years especially her role in Birth and the Others. I just hope people see her more of a beacon. A star who had enough grace to pull of some great roles. Unforgettable.
