Sam Worthington will star with Helen Mirren in Debt; John Madden directed action film for Miramax.
Worthington and Mirren play Israeli Mossad agents hunting a Nazi war criminal. The film is an English language remake of the Israeli thriller “Hahov”.
The film is a co production with Marv Film, the U.K- based company run by Matthew Vayghn and Kris Thykier. Vaugh wrote the script with Jane Goldman.
The deal comes after Miramax acquired distribution rights to Last Night, the Massy Tadjedin directed drama that Worthington stars in with Keira Knightley, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet.
Worthington committed to Debt while he is negotiating to play Perseus in Clash of the Titans,” the Louis Leterrier directed remake that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures for a spring start.
The Australian actor is also the star of the James Cameron directed Avatar, which 20 th Century Fox releases December 18 th 2009, and he stars with Christian Bale in the McG directed Terminator Salvation, which Warner Bros will release May 22nd.
