Martin Campbell has been tapped to direct “Nagasaki Deadline,” an action thriller that it is financing and co producing with Lightstorm Entertainment and 8:38 Productions.
Alcon toppers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce with 8:38’s Kira Davis and Lightstorm’s James Cameron, Rae Sanchini and Jon Landau.
David and Peter Griffiths, who penned the original screenplay, will executive produce. William Broyles Jr. is currently working on a rewrite of the story, centered on an emotionally damaged FBI aganet who must decipher historic events in a desperate rate to avert a terrorist plot.
The project has been picked up out of turnaround from Fox, where it was developed prior to 9/11. Alcon’s fast tracking the project with a goal of putting it into production next year.
Campbell’s currently working on the Mel Gibson vehicle “Edge of Darkness” and most recently directed “Casino Royale.”
Warner based Alcon’s current in pre production on “The Book of Eli,” starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, with Albert and Allen Hughes helming. We had showed a sneak peek of the poster for this film couple of days back.
