Annette Bening and Naomi Watts will headline “Mother and Child” a multilayered drama from one of my favorite directors Rodrigo Garcia who directed the pilot of Six Feet Under.
Though overlapping stories, script follows a woman who gave up her daughter 35 years ago and an African American Woman who is looking to adopt. Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps also star in this movie.
The film will be produced by Focus Films and Universal and it also has a great supporting case including robin Wright Penn and Brittany Robertson. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is an executive producer on this project, which has a production budget of some 7 million dollars.
“This is an incredibly emotional tale about the choices we make, missed opportunities and unbreakable blood bonds between mother and daughter,” WestEnd exec Eve Schoukroun said to Variety
The film will begin shooting in L.A. beginning in the first quarter next year.

Worth Lookinf forward too. Benning and Watts are super as usual but Shareeka Eeps is true find. (I felt her performance was too in Half Nelson. Ryan Gosling was apt but the fact that Eps not only gave him solid support but stood her own.).
Expect it to be quite intense. Good one. Thanks for this snippet!
