Sam Mendes is known for his work on American Beauty and his two subsequent films which sort of went unnoticed. One of those films was Road to Perdition. It is one of the few roles Tom Hanks has played the villain. The film was based on the graphic novel of Max Allen Collins and it was a really beautiful film. It now seems as though that world will be brought back to life again by the one who first created it.

Max is all set write both Road to Pugatory and Road to Paradise. He will also direct both the movies. There was a press release about these subsequent sequels.

Road to Purgatory will follow the character of Michael Sullivan, Jr., the son of Tom Hanks’ character in the original film, who returns from World War II with a new determination to avenge his murdered father. His quest ultimately leads him to Frank Nitti, whom he is urged to kill on the orders of Al Capone. The second sequel will follow Sullivan’s continued plight.

The film will dedicated to Paul Newman who is known to have his last starring role in this movie.

The Capone era is unquestionably the most interesting in the realm of modern crime, with a sprawl of tangled loyalties and political connections. The film will be really interesting to see on the silver screen but I just hope if Sam Mendes has something to do with this film.
