Director Paul McGuigan’s forthcoming sci fiction actioner about a group of psychics on the run from a clandestine government agency looks set to be one of the most original action thrillers of 2009.
The film revolves around people with an array of incredible powers, which can rather handily be summed up by single verbs. Movers are telekinetic, able to movie things with their will along. Watchers see images of the future and the titular Pushers are able to bend you to their will and place thoughts and impulses into your mind.
Chris Evans stars as Nick Gant, a Mover, who must team up with Cassie Holmes, a Watcher, and ex girlfriend Alyssa English played by Camille Belle, a Pusher, and go run from Djimon Hounsou and his band of government licenced psychics.
“It’s grounded in the real underbelly of all this dark experimentation that was going on in the early ‘50s.” Says Evans, referring to Cold War experiments into psychic warfare.
