The biopic of the notorious French Louche and debonair poet, Serge Gainsbourg has recently got a list of actors to play the major parts. Serge Gainsbourg’s biopic has been in the news for the casting news in France and we got hold some info on the issue. The film will be directed by Joann Sfar, a renowned French comic book artist. The lead will be played by actor Eric Elmosnino.

There are still going to be some really interesting actors who play some of the side players in Serge’s life. French supermodel Laetitia Casta has been cast to play the role of Brigitt Bardot, a former lover of Gainsbourg, whom the famous French pop song, “Je t’aime…moi non plus” was originally recorded for and with Bardot. But Bardot banned the recording after they broke up and Serge eventually recorded the track with another girlfriend who he eventually married.

Gainsbourg wrote songs for almost every actress in France, so most of the actor of that era should be featured in this movie. He wrote these songs for a chance to bed these actresses.

Model Actress Anna Mouglalis is playing elegant chanson singer Juliette Greco, actress Sara Forestier will play mousy, French ye-ye singer France Gall and French/Chinese actress Mylene Jampanoi will portray singer actress, Bambou, the last love of his life and the mother of Lucien Gainsbourg.

We also have casting news for play artistic polymath/movelist Boris Vian will be played by Philippe Katherine who was on of the first to recognize Gainsbourg’s talents and encouraged him to write his own songs and Yolanda Moreau will play Frehel, one of Gainsbourg’s earliest influence.

So there is still more casting to be done for the film. For instance Gainsburg’s wife Jane Birkin or his daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg who is a musician and actor in her own right, she was last seen Michel Gondry’s The Science of Sleep. French New Wave symbol Anna Karina who also starred alongside Gainsbourg and also casting for Jaques Dutronc and Francois Hardy who worked with him and eventually married each other, is still not done.

Sfar doesn’t want the movie to be called a biopic and the director disliked traditional boipics like, La Vie En rose. Sfar is trying to get the team who did the special effects for Pan’s Labyrinth to do what they can for this movie.

The film will have musician artist Gonzalez taking care of the musical aspect of the film. He is known to closely work with Fiest on many of her albums and some of her French titles. There should also be music featured by the artist also in the movie.
