After the much hyped Terminator Salvation, McG will direct a big screen adaptation of the upcoming spy novel, Dead Spy Running for Warner Bros. The film will be written by Jon Stock, the novel tells the origin story of former M15 agent Daniel Marchant.

The book has been described as “John Le Carre meets Jason Bourne and claims Stock has reinvented the spy novel for the 21 st century. Dead Spy Running sold to Harper Collins after an intense bidding war. The 320 page book is due out in July 2009. Warner Bros is quick to point out that McG will be directing the first installment or a planned franchise.

There is also another piece of news that has come out from this about the Terminator movie. The Terminator movie will be a part of a trilogy. If the movie turns out to be a big success then Warner will make sure two follow ups will be commissioned into production.

So this news comes after McG showed the people at Warner Bros some footage of the new Terminator film. This is surely one of the reasons why they are giving him even more projects.
