A new publicity still has creped up on Awards Daily for the movie The Road. The pictures include a dirty unshaven look for Viggo Mortensen as The Man and Kodi Smit McPhee as The Boy.

There was also quote that surfaced on the website that tells a little about the process of making the movie.

“We knew that the journey of making a movie out of McCarthy’s book ‘The Road’ would be both physically and emotionality challenging. There is a certain degree of sadness, fear and regret that ‘The Man’ carries inside as he strives to protect huis son and ensure their survival in an impossible world.” — Viggo Mortensen (Interview)

The film will get a 2009 release as of now. But it won’t be a contender for the Oscar this season with a lot of films crowding up this season. There has been not trailer or poster for this film yet so it shows they are really not ready to make the November 14 th deadline.
