Amy Adams is holding talks on a new movie titled Leap Year, a romantic comedy from Spyglass.
Spyglass Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber and Jonathan Glickman are producing with Bengerspink.
Adams will play an uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb 29 th, following an Irish tradition in which women proposes to men on that day and the man has to say yes. When weather derails her trip, she enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper to make an unexpected cross country trek to pull off the perfect proposal in time.
The script writers who wrote the recent hit Made of Honor. There is no director on board for this film; Spy Glass is eyeing a mid February start. Cassidy Lange is overseeing Executive work.
Adams garnered an Oscar nomination for Junebug and broke through with Enchanted, Disney homage to its animated princesses that grossed more than 340 million dollars worldwide.
She next stars opposite Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt, based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play. Adams then will reteam with Streep for Nora Ephron’s Julie and Julia.
