Brian De Palma on his new movie

Industry insider just revealed that the script for the The Boston Stranglers should have a finalized script this week and be ready to start filming by Spring of 2009. The film currently has a 2010 release date with Brian De Palma in the director’s chair.

The film is based off the book “The Boston Stranglers: The Public Conviction of Albert De Salvo and the True story of Eleven Shocking Murders,” by Susan Kelly. The film will have a different title. The film will base on the silk stocking stranglings that took place in the 1960s. The horrendous nature of the crimes and their location, the murderer was dubbed The Boston Strangler, becoming the most notorious crimes of the 60s.

A film starring Tony Curtis was out but as DeSalvo has said nobody was really sure if there was just one killer or many of them. But based on the title of the movie the Brian De Palma version will surely have multiple killers.
