Jar City film

Overture films have bought remake rights to the Icelandic whodunit Jar City. The Liberty Media studio has attached Michael Ross to write the screenplay. Baltasar Kormakur, who directed the original, will serve as a producer on the Overture film, set in a small Louisiana town.

The original film centers on a police detective whose investigation of a murder leads to the uncovering of secrets and corruption in a small Icelandic town as well as an exploration of his relationships. Jar City is surely going to be something really interesting to tackle the subjects in the movie.
