Johnny Depp has been cast in the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer produced adaptation of the classic old time radio and early television show The Lone Ranger created by George W Trendle. The series follows a masked Texas Ranger in the Old West who rights injustices with the aid of his native America assistant, Tonto. Johnny Depp is said to have been signed on to play Tonto. The writers of the hugely successful Pirates series Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio will write the script for this film. No release date has been fixed for this movie.
Now with the news of Depp playing Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland just hitting the web. This comes as a welcome surprise that Johnny Depp has signed yet another movie with Disney. But the biggest news of the evening is the announcement of Walt Disney Studios Chairman Richard W. Dick announcement “How about another pirates movie!?” signaling that Depp was now signed for Pirates of the Caribbean 4.
