Screen Media Films has picked up Sarah Jessica Parker’s racially charged drama Spinning Like Butter for North American Distribution.
The film is produced by the star and is directed by Mark Brokaw. The film is an adaptation of the Rebecca Gilman play. Sarah portrays a liberal New England college dean forced to confront hidden prejudices and political correctness when one of her fellow black students played by Paul James receives anonymous racist letters.
The film will now be moved to a first quarter 2009 release in couple of cities like New York, Los Angeles and five other US cities.
The film’s delay might actually help its box office prospects. It will now be the first feature by Sarah Jessica Parker afer hugely successful Sex and The City movie which grossed over 150 million dollars.
