A scene from the movie Let The Right One In

There have been many movies that have been transcending genres in the last couple of years. Like for instance The Orphanage, The Others and several others. But this list has just got a new entry in Let the Right One In. The film is based on the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist, this must see Swedish coming of age vampire film I sabout a 12 year old boy who befriends a girl in the apartment next to him. But little does he know she is a vampire. The movie is not a traditional horror film in the sense that it is more of a relationship story. It is a story about this introverted girl who teaches this shy buillied boy how to stand up for himself.

The film is currently doing several film festivals. It is sure to get a release for its unnatural theme. The film will be playing in New York City on October 24 th.
Magnolia’s genre arm Magnet owns the distribution rights, so it will eventually be released on DVD. So hope for it to make blood splatter in a theater near you.
