First Look

Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York

By admin

The first trailer for Charlie Kaufman’s directorial debut titled Synecdoche, New York has debuted on Yahoo. The film stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as a theatre director who, without going into the more complex details, decides to recreate his life as a theatrical play inside of an enormous abandoned warehouse. I’ve been told that this film is about Charlie Kaufman’s fears put into themes and metaphors, but it’s so insanely complex and confusing, that even after seeing it, many people don’t get what he is trying to say in the first showing. The trailer is more of a confused introduction into the lives of these characters.

The film has really not found a clear cut explanation to it structures. Many of the audiences are still bemused after several of the screenings of the movie. This movie will surely require repeat viewings. There are surely going to be characters within characters in this film that is sure to get much of the audience to figure out what is happening.

Here is the new trailer that has debuted at Yahoo Movies.
