Neil Burger who has just finished work on his movie The Lucky Ones. It has now been confirmed that he will be directing Shia Lebeouf in his next movie titled Dark Fields in New York City. The shooting for the film will begin in winter.

It is based on the 2002 novel The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn, the Universal Studios thriller is about a pill that makes you smarter and it’s Burger’s first film directed based on someone else’s script, in this case an adaptation by Leslie Dixon, who’s also writing the remark of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.

The film will not be handled in the science fiction way said the director “It’s more like if there’s viagra or steroids, why isn’t there something that increases your synaptic connections and makes you think smarter and faster, but it’s not without side effects and consequences.”

Burger is still in the promotion of his new war based film The Lucky ones while Shia is hot on his next feature called Eagle Eye.
