Breakin All the Roles scene

92 minutes, a philosophical comedy about a man who finds out he has only that amount of time to live, has just been acquired by Overture.

The screenplay is still in the development stages and it is written by Daniel Taplitz, with Bob Cooper producing the film with Landscape Entertainment banner. The film is based on a 1997 Israeli comedy titled “Mar Baum”. It centers on a man who upon learning he is about to die, must decide whether to spend his limited time rushing to get things done or slow down everything to savor his final moments on the earth.

“It is a comedy about priorities.” Cooper Said. “Like any good comedy, it takes everyday life and ratchets it up.” The tone in the Overture project is expected to be somewhat lighter than the Israeli version.

Taplitz wrote and directed the Jamie Foxx comedy “Breaking all the Rules” with Screen Gems released in 2004 and is writing “Man on the Train” a drams about a chance meeting between a criminal and a professor that Cooper is producing at Miramax. This sounds a little more interesting than the 92 minutes film. But the Israeli based comedy is surely going to be lined with some serious human condition scenes.
