Soloist is based on a true story about a schizophrenic homeless man Nathaniel Ayers played by Jamie Foxx. He was a musical prodigy who sort of lost his way on account for his disease. A journalist Steve Lopez who has been down on his luck writing for Los Angels times has a chance encounter with Jamie Foxx after a freakish bike accident.

Steve Lopez will be played by Robert Downey Jr, who seems to be riding a second wind in his career. The trailer makes it look like the years Pursuit of Happiness but it is nothing compared to the Changeling trailer that has Oscar written all over it. But with a combination like Joe Wright, Jamie Foxx and Robert in the film few will doubt this film’s potential. Joe Wright who last directed Pride and Prejudice and the immensely likeable Atonement.
