Denzel Washington is part of the cast of the film Book of Eli that will be a post apocalyptic drama that will be directed by Allen and Albert Hughes.

Alcon Entertainment is financing the film and Warner Bros will distribute the film.

Denzel will portray a lone hero in not too distant apocalyptic future that must fight across America to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption.

The film will be scripted by Anthony Peckham who wrote a rewrite over Gary Whitta’s script. Joel Silver will be producing the movie with Ashington, Susan Downey and Alcon co founders. The film will start post production in January of next year.

The next film for the star Washington will be with John Trovolta called The Taking of Pelham 123 that will be directed by Tony Scott.

It will be directed by the Hughes siblings whose last outing was the 2001 Johnny Depp Starrer called From Hell.

Whitta adapted the Katshuhiro Otomo graphic novel Akira into two films for Warner Bros and Legendary pictures. Peckham recently scripted the next directorial venture by Clint Eastwood the greatest living American director and also co wrote the Sherlock Holmes movie adaptation for Warner Bros.
