This film promises to be a follow up to the festival friendly Paris Je T’Aime with directors pledging their love to this beautiful city. The film features a total of 12 individual shorts. Each one is a love story that joins together to make one big film. The directors involved in the project are Yvan Attal, Allen Hughes, Shunji Iwai, Wen Jiang, Scarlett Johansson, Joshua Marston, Natalie Portman, Brett Ratner, Andrei Zvyagintsev, Fatih Akin, Shekhar Kapur, and Mira Nair. It also has a host of characters played by some able and popular actors including Bradley Cooper, Chris Cooper, Julie Christie, John Hurt, Ethan Hawke, Orlando Bloom, Shia LaBeouf, Kevin Bacon, Maggie Q, and again, Portman.

The film is scheduled to make its world premiere at the fast approaching Toronto International Film Festival next month

    Not sure about this. Actually have seen Paris, Je T’aime and I could relate only a very few of the mini-stories to the city. Since, its Paris Je T’aime, Paris should have a say or be a character in the films right. But somehow it didnt quite work for me.
    Hence feel the same about NYILY. We have an Indian version too - Mumbai Cutting. This is one film I am looking forward to. 11 films, 11 good directors, I just can feel the strories seeped into the Mumbai milieu even though I’ve just seen some snippets.
    But I hope both the versions work.
