Sony Picture Classics will distribute the French film Paris 36 directed by Christophe Barratier who directed the much loved The Chorus. They will distribute it in the US Australasia and Scandinavia.
The picture is produced by Jacques Perrin, Nicolas Mauvernay, and co-produced by Romain Le Grand for Pathe International. It is set to premier at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6th and will release in France on September 24th.
The film tracks the lives of three out of work dance hall stagehands who decide to put their own show at their newly defunct place of employment, the Chansonia dance hall. The film will feature some of the cast from Chorus and will be lensed by Clint Eastwood’s Director of Photography.
