Gerard Butler from the movie

Guy Ritchie’s films boast of characters from the world filled with such mischief and evil that is really difficult to take your eyes of his movies. His new movie RocknRolla has been under the surveillance of Warner Bros. They are not sure if they have to release this kinetically complex thriller filled with the usual gangsters, pimps, accountants and some who just are in the wrong place at the wrong fu@#$ing time. From the first review posted of the movie it is clear that he is totally back in form with this one. The Sun had this to say about the film “It is brilliant and absolute class.” Finally there is also some confirmation on the subsequent trilogy for the film. Guy Ritchie said that he has already written a second and sketched out a third movie.

In the last couple of weeks there have been some comments by Warner Bros chief Alan Horn who recently said that it is very English for the viewers here in America and not broadly commercial. But the film will gets audience after the moderate success of his first few films on the DVD. His second film with Brad Pitt was a total rage with not many people able to comprehend what Brad’s character was saying. His films are usually moderately budgeted with an assured domestic gross. The film stars Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton and Tom Wilkson (Michael Clayton, In the Bedroom) so it is sure going to be a limited release with such a cast.

But I just hope this positive publicity will make sure that movie will be given a fair chance by the distributors.

The film hits theaters in the UK come September 5th, but it looks like US audiences will have to wait quite some time, although Warner Brothers has tentatively set a limited release throughout October with a wide release hitting on October 31st.

There is a definite USA audience for this audacious film, and my friends and I are definitely a member of that audience.

Excuse me. Definitely members of that audience (for RocknRolla when it shows in the USA).
