The suspect of the murder

A Dutch filmmaker has announced plans for a feature film that will be loosely based in the disappearance and possible murder of an American high school student Natalee Holloway on Aruba, on the Dutch Antilles.

The case has got widespread coverage both in Netherlands and the US. The main suspect was even filmed with a hidden camera by crime reporter Peter R de Vries for a program on SBS Broadcasting of the Netherlands. The report garnered widespread acclaim and was nominated for an Emmy.

The film will be based on the crime novel Vuurkoraal which will be adapted by screenwriter Simon De Waal. The film will roll out next year
