Coen Brothers have cast two seriously unknown film actors in their next movie titled “A Serious Man”
Michael Stuhlbarg , a Tony nominated actor with very little experience in from of the cameras and the other is Richard Kind who is a famous character actor who seem to be ridding on his success from ABC’s “Spin City” . These two will star as brothers in a period black comedy.
The film is set in 1967 and it tells the story of Larry Gopnick played by Michael a professor whose life begins to unravel when his wife sets out to leave him and his socially inept brother won’t move out of the house. This film has traces of the director duo’s early work. They seem to grow stronger with each of their films. Shooting for the film is set to start next month in Minneapolis.
Joel and Ethan Coen whose recent movie starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt called Burn After reading will also open next month. The film will have its premier at Venice Film festival. They both penned the script and also sharing the producing duties. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner exec produce.
Stuhlbarg who has done very little work on TV with just a handful of cameos on Law and Order and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, was nominated for a Tony for his role in Pillowman and also starred in the title role of the Park production of Hamlet.
Kind on the other hand has done some really good work on TV and movies. His credits include “For Your Consideration,” “The Station Agent” and “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” and the TV series “Mad About You.”
