Phili Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener

The actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is all set to direct Jack Goes Boating, a big screen adaptation of an off Broadway play that debuted last year. The story about two looser who fall in love with each other. But that is not it the film embarks on the misgivings of a limo driver on his quixotic missions as cooking and swimming lessons, the other is a lovable looser. Hoffman actually stars in the play and has never directed a film before, although he has directed plays. The film will be produced by Big Beach Films (of Little Miss Sunshine) and Hoffman’s Cooper’s Town Productions, although there is no start date just yet.

The New York Times had given a favorable review of the movie. They had this to say about the play “you’re likely to leave the theater with a contact high from the ripe pleasure that Mr. Hoffman and his cast mates derive from portraying everyday eccentrics.” The film has many similarities as Little Miss Sunshine and with Philip Seymour Hoffman at the helm it is surely going to be delightful. Philip Seymour Hoffman is still tight lipped about his new project with Charlie Kauffman’s Synecdoche, New York. The film is going to be the surprises for sure for the year.
