Taylor Hackford has been quite these days after the release of his successful Ray Charles biopic. News was just in that he is getting ready to make a drama about the formative years of the astute playwright Tennesse Willams. It will talk about the dysfunctional family life he led and all that came out from it.

Robin Shushan has written the screenplay for the movie. Infinity Media the guys who produced Capote and will co produce it with Dan Halsted. The film will focus on his upbringing including things like his scornful father, depression, conflicts about sexuality and watching his beloved sister institutionalized and lobotomized. The issues that he went through that fueled some of his great plays like The Glass Menagerie and the Pulitzer prize winning A street Car name Desire.

The producer Ohoven said the script was a close parallel to Capote and said that the author’s relationship with the two murderers was turned into a drama and speaks in similar terms of how Tennesse also led his life.

“I had that same incredible feeling reading this script that I had on ‘Capote,’ and here again is an extremely dramatic story about how a torn and twisted life led Williams to write such great successes,” Ohoven said.

Shushan adapted the Craig Clevenger novel “The Contortionist’s Handbook” for GreeneStreet Films, and scripted a film about the J. Paul Getty kidnapping for Universal and director Peter Berg.

The dates for the picture has not been finalized yet, as Hackford could take another job before this film. He just completed work on “Love Ranch” with wife Helen Mirren and also starring Joe Pesci.
