This is surely one of the definitive Wong Kar Wai Collection i have seen on the net. We are planning to give away this DVD to one lucky winner. The collection contains Days of Being Wild that has been called the Cantonese Rebel Without A Cause. Leslie Cheung plays one of his finest performances in this movie playing man torn apart by a search to find his mother. Another big movie in this collection is the immensely likable Romantic story about two men played by Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung. Added to this collection we add two more great companion pieces to Wong Kar Wai greatness As Tears Go By and Chungking Express. This is surely one for those who really want to see what cinema truly wants to offer when it comes to romance. 1 Lucky Winner will get this DVD.

My first Wong Kar Wai experience was In the Mood for Love which I loved. I followed that up with 2046 and Fallen Angels and have always wanted to see more of his earlier work. What better way to do so than to have such a great collection at my fingertips.

When I saw Chungking Express, the film was like a captured dream. It caught my imagination on what a film maker can do. From that day onwards, I became a fan of WKW. I saw his other works like Six Days music video, BMW short film, and bits of Happy Together, but I saw all of these in YouTube including Chungking Express; it didn’t give justice to WKW’s works! I always wanted to see his works on the big screen or even on dvd because the films of wong kar wai are rare. I would like to appreciate and savor WKW’s films, and having a dvd collection of his works would be like captured dreams of a great auteur!

what a wonderful contest. I have been a fan for some time now and actually own In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express, and Fallen Angels on video tape. I’ve admired this set and would love to own it, so that I could share some of these wonderful movies with friends. I anxiously await any project that WKW is involved with. 2046, Eros, and My Blueberry Nights were all fantastic although I will admit I prefer the Hong Kong actors over the American and British folks he’s worked with. I hope his film about Chow Hsuan “Lady From Shanghai?” is released in the near future. That film is going to be epic. Thanks again for the contest

Wong Kar Wai and cinematographer Christopher Doyle produced first class off-beat arthouse cinema that was also accessible to the wider public. Memorable and timeless performances by Tony Leung, Brigitte Lin, Leslie Cehung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Maggie Cheung, Ziyi Zhang, Faye Wong, Gong Li, just to name a few. Photographically, it is hard to imagine anything comparable to Doyle’s stunnning neo-noir style, a master of lighting and use of desaturated colors, and the color of green. Your DVD set offers some of the finest early Wong Kar Wai, such as As Tears Go By starring Andy Lau and Jackie Cheung, a film revisiting in humorous fashion Hong Kong action cinema. Days of Being Wild is a favorite for its wonderful opening shot and music of the tropic jungle in the Philippines and the late Leslie Cheung’s stunning performance alongside Maggie Cheung and Brigitte Lin. Chungking Express with singer Faye Wong and its follow-up Fallen Angels, both starring Takeshi Kaneshiro are absolute masterspieces of global film history. And finally, Happy Together star Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung in the beautifully corrupt settings of Buenos Aires’s nightlife. This set summarizes the genius of Wong Kar Wai.
