It really takes a touch of class to begin a movie from a point where the characters have established themselves way before the credits have begun to role. The film begins with Pettigrew being thrown out of her house by her employer. She is a lady who has been brought really well but has forgotten to let me say Live. She has been tide up with all her moralities and social perceptions that she fails to see her for herself. This is when Delysia Lafosse falls from the sky and stays in a lavish appartment drunk out of her wits and woken by Miss Pettigrew. She is not a lady from this world at all, she is a woman pretending to be a child. But she is a beautiful and glamorous child. Someone who has grown used to this mundane world of society parties and drinks on the house. Her life seems to be just a like a feather being pulled from all sides till, we really don’t know till when.
Delysia has three men in her life who seem to want her for what she has to offer - beauty and charm. She acts through her whole life forgetting what it is to think about one self. That is when the companionship of Mrs Pettigrew totally changes her from a needed woman to a woman with a need. The place she lives is filled with men who are not sure of what they want from their woman. They have sort of forgotten the dictum’s love stood for. They are trying to use their personalities like possessiveness, ignorance and passion to vow the women of this city. They are oblivious of what the woman needs to feel. Even Michael the one Delysia is totally in love is probably the only one who knows her a little bit. But Delysia is more than what meets the eye. Just with able mind of another woman she transforms into a woman of substance. Words are the things that make Delysia who she is. She seems to find it hard to negotiate with herself. She loves to play around naked in fur coats but that is a more child like thing she does that men might find sexy. She is really trying to escape all this but is still so closely knit to all that is going around. One of Deylsia most memorable scenes is when she says
” Its not always like this, Occasionally its not like this, Alright its always like this “
