This year has been more of a race to find out which is the best comic book flick of the year. With all the action films being packed in this summer with so many Comic movies in the list as well this was poised to be a big year. Iron man was meant to be one of the dark horses of the year. But the film sort of worked because of what Robert Downey Junior gave to it. His turn as a playboy millionaire who makes weapons and has a really sarcastic tongue must have been what this franchise needed. All said and done the film boasts of some really impressive special effect set pieces that are surely to put a benchmark for effects. But this is surely going to be outdone with the new Batman movie that has been scorching the screens all across America.

The film is just a fun ride that doesn’t allow us to use much of our mind and tries to breach some of the political issues. But these are not something that will make us stand for this movie. But it does a small punch thought it is a big movie. The smartest thing in the movie in my view is Jeff Bridges. The whole package i mean his get up his look all have been just phenomenal. His idea of making an impression is surely going to go down in history. He is one of my top 10 favorite villains for the year. Every actor in the film seems to be having alot of fun. The film is also funny in some unexpected ways. The use of robots by Iron Man to do all his dirty work is really one of the highlights of this movie. This is probably one of the few movies where these robotic arms have been funny.

But what is the purpose of all this mindless action and these really sad Afghanistan references? The use of these issues in a film like this and to really make fun of it is something that really needs to be done with care. The director has made sure that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone sentiments in this film especially the viewers. So he travels the most difficult direction in Blockbuster films that is the middle path. He makes the film faithful to many of the readers except of the use of a villain who is like a larger version of himself. Iron Man boasts of several villains and they should use them in the next one. Even some of the familiar foes need to be brought on to screen to make the second venture something to wait for.
