Ridley Scott is all set to direct the screen adaptation of the period noir novel The Kind one. Warner Brothers is producing the movie. Author Tom Epperson is on board for the screenplay. He has previously worked as a co-screenwriter on movies such as One False Move (An overlooked knockout crime drama starring Billy Bob Thornton) and The Gift. The Kind One is his first book. Set in 1930s sun-drenched Los Angeles, the book tells the story of Danny London, who has lost his memory. He is told that he was the right hand man of a ruthless gang-lord, Bud Seitz. But Danny is not convinced. He feels lost. How can he be a gangster when he doesn’t feel like one? Things gets harder when Danny’s ordered to keep an eye on the gangster’s moll, Darla.
Casey Affleck is going to play the role of Danny London. After, his performance in the neo-noirish Gone Baby Gone, he seems a good choice. He fit perfectly into the character of the cynical, smart private eye, making his living off the Boston Streets. Since, the writer is a guy who cut his teeth with screenplays, that department should be taken care off. Now lets see whether Ridley Scott delivers a hard-hitting masterpiece or an average flick…as he has been wont to do recently. By the way, his next movie Body of Lies, starring Leonardo di Caprio and Russel Crowe is scheduled for release in October, 2008.

this should be good… Ridley Scott has a knack for making amazing movies, not just so they look good, but so they contain tons of real-life value
