There have been so many remix and remakes in the past year but none like this one. The film has an interesting opening credits and a beautiful score. It has moments that make even other Bollywood movies feel less significant. I wouldn’t like to get into the story because that would kill the suspense of the experience you are about to get.

The only clue I can offer is the fact that it is a disjointed remake of Don. This will set you in the wrong path for sure. The film is very extremely unpredictable and has a lot of scope for actions that it chooses to avoid. It is more to do with hard choices one has to make to be able to survive in this man eat man world.

It takes a twisted look on many of the issues that our pertaining to Bollywood. This might not go down well with the family audiences. It also has its share of masala jokes that are put on the able shoulders of some fine supporting cast. The film has only one song that seeps into the narrative of the story.

But now for what makes this movie tick. In his unconventional style of adding both humor and pathos in a single film Rajat Kapoor is sort of mastering it. The style is akin to many Korean movies but Rajat brings his own supply of pathos to make this work.

The film is not driven for a large audience it is stuck in a tiny cornucopia of people. There are moments that will leave a bitter taste in your mouth. There are also some mangled and twisted observations one can make while watching this. But is this movie free to interpretation the answer would be no. The reason why this isn’t so is the extended ending that was unwarranted. But it feels like he wanted to exercise his creative freedom. But this is what leaves the film sort of flat. But the culmination to the end is what makes this movie a worthy watch.

But this film also gives us a clear indication of things to come. The film has an unexpected beauty that leaves us stunned. Beauty that is only short lived but very relevant to the context of this film. There is also another reason you might watch this for the uncanny portrayal of a character by Ranvir. He gives to this role his own weakness and gives a restrained strength to both of his characters.
