It’ll take three Hollywood giants to fill Heath Ledger’s shoes.
Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell will step in to play portions of Ledger’s role in his final unfinished movie, the BBC reported Tuesday. The superstars will play different incarnations of the character that Ledger was playing in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” before he tragically died of an overdose last month.
Ledger, 28, had already completed some scenes in the upcoming film, and director Terry Gilliam plans to use the footage in the final version of the movie.
A spokeswoman for Law confirmed the three would play the role of the character Tony in the film “subject to negotiations.”
The fantasy film follows a traveling theater troupe that offers audience members the chance to pass through a magical mirror to alternative dimensions.
Depp, Law and Farrell are each expected to portray Ledger’s character in one of these new worlds.
Work on the $30 million movie finished in London and production had moved to Vancouver when Ledger was found dead in his SoHo apartment Jan. 22.
Filming was suspended after his death.
