All the errors on this review are done intentionally

There are films which transport us to a different world. There are others which stick stories. This one sticks with the latter in telling us a story about a 8 year old boy who doesnt do really well in school. But this doesnt stop him from doing what he wants. He rebels with all his neighbourhood turning out to be a menace. The teachers don’t regard him highly calling him insolent. But his mother and father faile ot(done intentionally) even understand what this boy is going through. There are a lot of questions which are left unanswered in this boys mind. There is point in the story when the boy Ishaan tells his teachers that the words are dancing in front of him.

The star of the film doesnt even arrive till after the interval. But this to show his charm and his mass pulling power in the country. But Ishaan’s dilemma is something many of us have faced in the beggining of our childhood but learn to figure a way out around. This has led Ishaan to harvest a lot of anger which causes him to rebel. But the kid is thwarted by people and the society around him.

This rebellion from the boy is put to an end the moment he reaches boarding school. The parents had no choice but to send him there. This makes him rebel against everyone in a very angry fashion. He values freedom very dearly.

Then comes the observer Professon Ram who sees this boys predicament and feels it might be too late. I will not elaborate on the condition the film will speak to you about it lucidly.

The direction of this film relies heavily on simplicity and excecution. It makes the incidents in this story more profound. This is careful examination yet sensitivily handled film. It has taken guts on his part to make something of this nature. From here on a issue based film will bare this stamp.

Aamir Khan has taken his time to come as a director but where was this prodigal son all this time. He needs to make many more to give to cinema what very few directors give. This is by far the best film this year and probably live in the hearts of everyone who sees this beautiful film.
